Our Church

Saint John Coptic Orthodox Church of Bromley Kent was originally established in 2007.

We started with a very small congregation that were dedicated to the idea of bringing the rich Coptic Orthodox faith to the area while establishing dedicated facilities for them to practice their faith and instill these values in their children.

The church is part of The Diocese of Ireland, Scotland, North East England and its affiliated regions which is an Eparchy of the Coptic Orthodox Church under the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria. The church is under the supervision of H. G. Bishop Antony.

Are visitors welcome?

Yes, absolutely.  We are a community made up of both cradle-born Orthodox Christians and those who have converted to the faith. We are very comfortable with new comers, inquirers, and visitors. Anyone who wishes to discover ancient Coptic Orthodox Christianity is welcome. If you have questions, Fr. Antonius Nagib will be happy to answer them, so don’t be afraid to ask questions about what we do and why.

In planning your visit, please call Fr. Antonius Nagib, and someone will greet you and direct you to a place to sit. In attending the service of Raising of Incense or the Divine Liturgy, we have books available with the text of the prayers, we have a large PowerPoint presentation with the text of the prayers in English, Coptic and Arabic. You also have the option to simply close your eyes and let your heart and mind enter into the spirit of the Church’s ancient and beautiful worship of God.

Following the Sunday Divine Liturgy, you are invited to join us for a “lunch called Agaby” which is a good time to get to know our members and meet our priests.
